Tears of Fire

Tears of Fire

Firewood has only one purpose
My past dreams just kindling
I am so dry and yet
Another tear is squeezed out.
I try to empty this sea of sadness
One tear at a time.
Where is the match
To set fire to this house?
Is the wood still too green
To burn with purity?
My skin crawls
I know I am holding on
To things of no value.
God is tender with me.
He waits with arms open
Someday, I will go,
But only when He carries me.
Maybe lightening will strike
Only burning can solve this
